What makes it interesting?
This project was the recipient of the 2014 NACPRO Award in the Park and Recreation Facility, for the very best of facility design, planning, construction, and benefits to the community.
How HCSS Software assisted with this project
HeavyBid allowed ECI to promptly and accurately evaluate different pipe-joining methods to maximize production and economics on this fast-paced project. In addition, HeavyBid assisted the ECI project management team to convert the estimate data to accurate cost data on a very short turn-around so work could begin days after the bid was accepted by the owner.
The Snowmaking & Lighted Trail Development for Cross Country Skiing-Hyland Park Reserve project included the construction of an underground intake structure and wet well, construction of 36-inch diameter high-density polyethylene underwater intake structure, installation and connection of a distribution pipe network — over 18,000 linear feet of new high-pressure steel pipeline using a proprietary technology for high speed mechanical pipeline connections — high pressure automated pump station, and pump house building construction.
Over 27,000 linear feet of conduit was used for lighting for the ski trail system and snowmaking gun power receptacles. The project was completed on an aggressive four-month schedule to bring the ski trails on-line prior to the 2013 winter recreation season.
