Project Description:
In September 2014, Yantis Company was awarded a $12.3 million mass grading and utilities contract for a new Dollar General Distribution Facility. Located just south of IH-10 on Foster Road, the site spanned over 100 acres.
The project was designed by Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam (LAN). Yantis worked directly for Dollar General on this project. Yantis’ contract included: 370,000 cubic yards of excavation; more than 496,000 cubic yards of embankment; 275,000 cubic yards of cement-treated pad; and 210,000 square yards of 12-inch cement-treated subgrade.
Yantis is currently installing more than 30,000 linear feet of storm drain, sewer, and water pipe as well as the dry electric package. The construction of the 1-million-square-foot pad began September 2, 2014, and was completed December 5, 2014, 10 days ahead of schedule with 12 days of rain delay.
